Busy autumn 2014 - facts and joy :)

November - streptocarpus' month - I decided not to wait for the spring, kept only the very tops of new leaves, planting in small pots. Let them establish in fresh compost.

December - african violets' month - plants were "tired" from the almost whole year in the same compost, and many had to cut tops to root anew.
These are several lovely "babies" before getting in "own" pots:

My cyclamen is staying outside - we already had a couple of frosty mornings - however frost didn't get into loggia:

My hairy cactus - I was thinking of him growing a fur coat to overwinter... but it's blooming for already 1.5 months:

     Some violets this autumn:

... and finally... oh, fingers crossed, my hoya curtisii is going to show me it's flowers...

What the sunset today!

Sunday 24 August 2014

It's August!

Quite chilly outside... Time to review summer pics...

My fuchsias were unhappy during the very heat. I added geraniums to make loggia more colourful.

I've grown this white variety from cuttings, one kind lady gave to me. I don't know the name of variety, just that it's hardy:

In general I was unseccessful with many plants I've grown from seeds. I didn't consider, that despite of south direction, my loggia is deep and doesn't get much light in fact. I've got many plants too leggy. And as for tomatoes it was cold for them outside.

Cobaea climber just started to bloom:

Tillandsias liked fresh air very much:

I've fed adult streptocarpus plants with slow release Baby Bio tablets, half-dose only. Oh..., it's difficult now to place them on windowsills every time I take them out for watering. Leaves have grown significantly:

      Several portraits:

these cute edges...

Spot the difference! These are 2 different varieties. Opera Doc is in more delicate rose. Both have the same size leaves this season.

Deeper colour in fact
